Module 7 of 7

Service of process and diligence

Hard to Serve

You have been out there six times. The car is in the carport, the light goes off when you knock, and nobody answers the door. The question is no longer how to serve him. It is what you can put in front of a judge.

What it covers

Five topic areas.

  1. 01The jurisdiction worksheet. Your court, your rule, your requirements, entered once and held to for the whole file. The module carries no state’s service rules and never will.
  2. 02The attempt log. One row per attempt, written the same hour, observations only. Days, hours, vehicles, mail, what the neighbor actually said, and the coverage grid that shows a judge you did not make the same attempt six times.
  3. 03Evasion or ordinary absence. The two-column read, and the point where the honest answer is that he does not live there and the file needs a locate.
  4. 04The pattern memo. A neutral narrative of what the attempts show, every sentence tied to a logged entry.
  5. 05The diligence summary. The factual exhibit counsel attaches when asking the court for another method, including a section naming what you did not do.

What you get

A folder you upload to Claude once.

Inside it is the skill file, a firm profile you fill in once, seven reference documents, and the templates: log columns, coverage grid, address confirmation block, statement block, the closing entry, the handoff email to counsel, and the intake block for a referral.

Before you buy

Read this first.

  • This module does not draft affidavits or declarations of service. You swear to what you personally did, in your own words. It gives you the diligence summary to write that from.
  • It does not say whether service was proper, and it does not write motions. Those are counsel’s and the court’s.
  • It does not carry your state’s service rules. It makes you enter the governing rule and then holds the record to it.
  • You need a Claude account. Free, Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise all work. On Free, Pro or Max, turn off model training before case material goes in.

How it works with Skip Trace

Skip Trace finds the person. Hard to Serve documents the attempts and builds the record counsel files with. When the record shows the defendant is not at the address at all, this module says so and hands the file back to Skip Trace for a current address.
